Florida teen arrested after he allegedly tweeted about planting bombs
HIALEAH, Fla. - A Florida teen was arrested after he allegedly made some explosive threats on Twitter, reports CBS Miami.
Julian Dominguez, 18, of Hialeah, Fla., is facing charges related to a series of tweets that began with an alleged bomb threat.
"There are 6 bombs placed in 6 different locations of the city. They will be detonated if the police responds," Dominguez tweeted Thursday.
In another he warned that "casualties will be tremendous." The tweets have since been deleted.
As he was led away from his home by police, he looked at a CBS Miami camera and apologized. When asked why he did it, Dominguez said he was high on marijuana.
"Nowadays those threats are to be taken very seriously. He probably thought he was being funny or amusing but he committed a crime today," said Hialeah police spokesman Carl Zogby.
