Fla. millionaire, missing since 2012, declared dead

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- A judge on Thursday officially declared a Florida millionaire missing since 2012 deceased, reports CBS Miami.

Guma Aguiar went missing after leaving his Fort Lauderdale home June 19, 2012 to board his boat, which was later found washed ashore, He hasn't been seen since.

Court documents say his wife and his mother think the 35-year-old father of four accidentally fell overboard, reports the Sun Sentinel.

Aguiar's family has feuded over his multi-million-dollar estate, which includes real estate in Israel valued at about $12 million, according to CBS Miami. But in court Wednesday, both Aguiar's mother Ellen Aguiar and widow Jamie Aguiar jointly petitioned a judge to declare him dead.

While the two have been battling with each other to control his estate, they both agreed in the matter so they could have access to his money, reports the station.

The feud is expected to continue following the judge's ruling.
