Florida man allegedly makes carjacking a family affair
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Police say a man who was with his family assaulted a child and stole a car Saturday night, reports CBS Miami.
Tommy Robinson, Shomeka Harris and their young son allegedly hopped into the back seat of victim Virginia Bulla's car at a Ft. Lauderdale gas station around 10 p.m. She told police Robinson said, "drive <expletive>."
Robinson reportedly pointed a gun at Bulla and her son, Dithmar, who was in the car at the time, and told Bulla if she tried to call the police, he would "blow your head off."
Robinson, 28, them allegedly demanded Bulla's money as he wrapped a passenger side seat belt around her son's neck and began choking and punching him, according to the CBS Miami.
Robinson allegedly stole Bulla's check book before she was able to bolt from the car and call for help.
Robinson was arrested the following day. He faces a number of charges including robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery and kidnapping.
