Fox News suspends host Eric Bolling amid allegations of lewd text messages

LOS ANGELES -- Fox News has suspended longtime host Eric Bolling pending an investigation amid allegations that he sent lewd images to female co-workers via text messages, the network announced Saturday.

"Eric Bolling has been suspended pending the results of an investigation, which is currently underway," a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement.

The suspension follows a HuffPost story that cites more than a dozen anonymous sources who claim Bolling sent an "unsolicited photo of male genitalia" to at least two of his colleagues at Fox Business and one colleague at Fox News.

The lewd images were allegedly sent several years ago, according to the HuffPost report.

The law firm Paul Weiss is conducting the investigation into Bolling's conduct, the network spokesperson said in a statement. Substitute hosts will replace Bolling on "The Specialists" and "Cashin In'" for the duration of the investigation.

Bolling's attorney, Michael J. Bowe, denounced the accusations and called them untrue Saturday.

In a statement, Bowe said his team is fully cooperating with investigators so that Bolling could return to his shows as soon as possible.

"The anonymous, uncorroborated claims are untrue and terribly unfair," Bowe said.
