ER doctor, stabbed at home, drives self to hospital, report says

GROSSE POINTE WOODS, Mich. - An investigation is underway after a Michigan ER doctor was stabbed at his home in Grosse Pointe Woods and then drove himself to the hospital, reports CBS Detroit.

The man reportedly walked into St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren Friday under his own power. It's unclear how badly he was injured.

The station reports the man was admitted for surgery and hospital security guards notified police of the situation.

Grosse Pointe Woods police are handling the investigation, which is ongoing.
