Emily Blunt in talks for "Mary Poppins" sequel
The world's favorite nanny may be coming back to movie screens, and this time in the form of Emily Blunt.
The British actress is said to be in talks with Disney to star in the role originated by Julie Andrews, according to Variety, for a planned sequel directed by Rob Marshall, with whom Blunt previously worked on the musical "Into the Woods."
Instead of a reboot, Disney is following through on plans for a sequel to the 1964 film, with insiders saying the story will pick up 20 years later in Depression-era London and follow the magical nanny's continued adventures with the Banks family.
Sources say Disney is looking to get started on the film soon, which is good, considering it was announced just last month that Blunt is expecting her second child with husband John Krasinski.
