That's how the Texas senator responded to President Obama's criticism of Republicans over the United States' Syrian refugee policy. "Let me suggest something, Mr. President, if you want to insult me you can do it overseas, you can do it in Turkey, you can do it in foreign countries, but I would encourage you, Mr. President, come back and insult me to my face," Cruz said.

The senator went on to say he would debate Mr. Obama on the issue "anywhere you want."

Donald Trump exaggerates about Obama's Syrian refugee plan

"It's amazing that the United States can have a president who is so out of touch, but it's also dangerous. Obama has no strategy to defeat ISIS, and now he's preparing to hundreds of thousands of refugees from Syria into the United States." -- Donald Trump in a new radio ad

In fact, President Obama has called for the U.S. to take in 10,000 refugees from Syria over the course of a year.

Huckabee: Obama is tone-deaf on Syrian refugees

Huckabee slams Obama's remarks on refugees

"Our president instead of going full bore against ISIS seems to be more intent on going after Republican governors." -- Huckabee in a telephone interview with CBSN

Fiorina echoes Huckabee

"It's all he gets fired up about, is arguing with Republicans, that's what he gets fired up about. He doesn't get fired up about ISIS. He doesn't get fired up about the threat to the homeland. He doesn't get fired up about what we need to do to change our strategy to defeat them. He gets fired up about attacking Republicans." -- Fiorina on Fox News on Wednesday
