Dwayne Johnson puts his male "Fast 8" co-stars on notice with heated post
Dwayne Johnson had some harsh words for some of his "Fast 8" co-stars -- the male ones, in particular -- but who could he be talking about?
In an uncharacteristically caustic Facebook post, Johnson lashed out at some unnamed members of the ensemble for the fast-car franchise's eighth entry as he headed into his final week of shooting.
"My female co-stars are always amazing and I love 'em," Johnson wrote, alongside a video of him in character pummeling a prison guard.
"My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't. The ones that don't are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy a**es."
"When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling -- you're right."
But Johnson is still a professional, and he's already looking at how he can turn these on-set lemons into blockbuster lemonade.
"Bottom line is it'll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that's embedded in my DNA extremely well," he wrote. "The producer in me is happy about this part."
It's only natural to speculate about which male co-stars Rock is so displeased with. Johnson has always spoken highly of his co-stars in the series in the past, so it seems unlikely he would mean Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Lucas Black or Jason Statham, who all reprise earlier franchise roles for the new film.
The new male additions to the cast include Scott Eastwood and "Game of Thrones" star Kristofer Hivju.
