Duncan Jones prefers Lorde's David Bowie tribute to Lady Gaga's

Duncan Jones is firmly establishing himself as the arbiter of what is and isn't a fitting tribute to his late father, David Bowie. And the good news for singer Lorde? Hers earned his approval.

Lorde performed Bowie's hit "Life on Mars" as a part of a tribute to the singer, who passed away at age 69 in January, during the Brit Awards in London earlier this week. And Jones, who made waves a week ago for his criticism of Lady Gaga's tribute to Bowie at the Grammys, was much more pleased this time around, calling the tribute "beautiful."

Lorde herself, who retweeted Jones' glowing praise, also revealed how she calmed her nerves before taking the stage. "I was so nervous in the wings, and then I whispered to myself, 'Just sing it to David,' and nothing else mattered," she tweeted.
