Donald Trump promises to "bomb the hell out of ISIS" in new ad
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump promised to "quickly and decisively bomb the hell out of ISIS" in one of four new radio ads that are running in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, the first three states to weigh in during the Republican primary contest.
"I will stop illegal immigration," Trump says in a spot called "Produce," in which he says that the Paris attacks show that "America needs to get tough on radical Islamic terrorism."
"We'll build a wall on the southern border and yes, I will also quickly and decisively bomb the hell out of ISIS....We will not have to listen to the politicians who are losing the war on terrorism," he says.
The ads are part of a $300,000 buy that was announced earlier this month. They feature Sam Clovis, an Iowa Republican who is co-chairing Trump's campaign and another supporter from New Hampshire named Louise Buck.
"I'm thinking about the future of our country, and I am worried that we might nominate another career politician who is all talk and no action, Buck says in one ad. "He may not always be politically correct, but he will keep us safe from terrorism and that's important to me and my family, and hopefully to you."
Trump's campaign said the ads will "stress the need for real change in Washington, D.C. in order to address problems created by the 'all talk, no action politicians' that have failed American's for far too long."
The use of super PACs by his competitors comes up in another ad. Trump says, "I'm not taking special interest money, and I've called on other candidates to disavow their super PACs but none of them have done it, which means they'll be puppets for lobbyists, donors and special interests." His campaign said the ads will highlight the fact that Trump is self-funding his presidential bid (although his federal filings revealed he is receiving donations).
"We must address Islamic terrorism and protect our country first. I will lead by example, as I always have, by vowing to defeat ISIS, stop illegal immigration and the Syrian refugee program, secure our border and bring real change to Washington, D.C. I am the only one who can Make America Great Again," Trump said in a statement announcing the release of the ads.
