Was deputy's daughter pushed from moving van?
BOWMAN, S.C. -- Authorities investigating the death of the daughter of a South Carolina deputy who may have been pushed out of a van on Interstate 26 in Orangeburg County have charged a woman with failing to report the incident.
Authorities say 21-year-old Dominique Davis, of Columbia, was hit by a truck after falling from the van near the Bowman exit on I-26 west.
An arrest warrant says 31-year-old Ebony Roddick told Orangeburg County deputies she saw the victim jump from the van and didn't notify police. A witness, however, told investigators it appeared that Davis may have been pushed, reports CBS affiliate WSPA.
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says deputies are still talking to people and examining evidence and more charges are possible.
Roddick is charged with failing to provide information and render aid. It wasn't known if she had a lawyer.
Davis was the daughter of Richland County Sheriff's Sgt. Latavish Ulmer.
