Death of baby found in NYC luxury apartment ruled homicide
NEW YORK - The death of an infant last October in New York City has been ruled a homicide, police said Thursday, reports CBS New York.
Police responded to a luxury building in Brooklyn on Oct. 17 around 9:40 p.m. to find 2-month-old Hudson Dipede unconscious, bleeding from the nose and suffering from head trauma, according to the station.
The baby was transported to the Woodhull Hospital where he died.
More than eight months later, the death has been declared a homicide.
The New York Daily News reports a police source said the child's death was not deemed suspicious at first because he had been born prematurely and suffered several health problems.
According to the New York Post, sources say the child's parents were out to dinner and a babysitter was caring for the infant and his twin brother when police were called to the home.
The paper identifies the deceased child's father as Ryan Dipede - a senior executive and management consultant - and the mother as Virginia Jamieson -- a public relations and communications specialist in the tech industry.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, according to CBS New York.
