Members of Foo Fighters announced Tuesday that they're canceling the rest of their European tour after the frontman was injured in a fall onstage in Sweden. Grohl momentarily left to get medical attention, but then managed to finish the show with a bandaged leg. Later, the band tweeted an X-ray of Grohl's fractured foot.

Grohl had surgery Monday and his recovery timeline is unclear. In a separate statement, Grohl thanked fans for their support and offered apologies, saying it killed him to cancel the shows: "I'm afraid it's just not physically possible for me at the moment."

Grohl also recounted the accident and why he got back onstage: "I couldn't stand the thought of such a perfect night going to waste!"

The band's canceled dates include in the United Kingdom and Belgium.
