Darth Vader will appear in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story"
They couldn't do a "Star Wars" movie about the Death Star and leave out Darth Vader, right?
New details have been revealed about this December's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," and chief among them is the revelation that Darth Vader will be featured in the film, something about which fans have been speculating since the project was announced.
While Darth Vader won't be the main villain of "Rogue One" -- that duty falls to Ben Mendelsohn's cunning imperial officer Orson Krennic -- he will play a role in the film, which takes place between "Revenge of the Sith" and "A New Hope," according to Entertainment Weekly.
The magazine also reveals character details and backstories for the band of rebels working to steal the plans to the Death Star, led by Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso. And one of the more closely guarded details now made public? The identity of Forest Whitaker's character. The Oscar-winner will be playing Saw Gerrera, who first appeared in the animated "Clone Wars" series, making him the first "Star Wars" character to make the jump from TV to live-action film.
