"Dance Moms" star due in court for fraud charges

"Dance Moms" star indicted on fraud charges

PITTSBURGH --"Dance Moms" star Abigale Lee Miller is to appear before a federal magistrate in Pittsburgh to be arraigned on charges that she tried to hide $775,000 worth of income from the Lifetime network reality show and spinoff projects during her Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The investigation began when a channel-surfing bankruptcy judge saw Miller on TV in December 2012 and figured she had to be making more than the $8,899 in monthly income she was claiming.

The 50-year-old reality TV star isn't in custody. She was charged last month and mailed a summons to appear for the federal court proceeding on Monday afternoon.

Miller's defense attorney, Robert Ridge, says she'll plead not guilty, but declined to comment on the specific allegations.
