Dallas police search for suspect in deadly pre-Halloween shooting

DALLAS - Police are hunting for a man who shot and killed another man at a Dallas gas station the night before Halloween, CBS DFW reports.

They say Edward Alberto Cancino, 20, is responsible for fatally shooting David McGary, who was trying to buy marijuana from him.

The pair allegedly had an altercation in front of several people when Cancino pulled a gun. Police say they were later said McGary was running from Cancino when he was shot. McGary was able to continue running but collapsed on the street. Cancino allegedly fled the scene.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of Cancino or any other suspect in a felony offense. Anyone with information related to the murder of David McGary or the whereabouts Of Edward Alberto Cancino, is asked to call Dallas Police homicide detectives at 214-671-3690 or Crime Stoppers at 817-373-TIPS (8477).
