Dad who said baby fell from swing accused of killing her

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania man who told police his infant daughter was injured falling out of her baby swing has been charged with killing her.

Twenty-three-year-old Deven Kohr, of New Cumberland, faces criminal homicide and other charges in the girl's death. The charges were filed Saturday.

Police say emergency crews were called to the home May 14 when the 6-month-old girl went into cardiac arrest. Doctors later determined that the girl's injuries were caused by having been squeezed for up to 15 minutes and she died at a hospital that day.

A coroner found injuries consistent with traumatic asphyxia and numerous brain bleeds that had occurred previously. There were hemorrhages in the girl's eyes, which would have left her blind.

Kohr is jailed without bond. His attorney declined to comment.
