Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein to get Walk of Fame stars

Career milestones are always better with friends.

"Kinky Boots" collaborators Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein will be honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which will be unveiled during a dual ceremony on April 11, producers for the event announced.

While the pair worked together on the Tony-winning Broadway musical "Kinky Boots," which premiered in 2013, their side-by-side stars will commemorate both of their storied careers in entertainment before and after the smash hit. Lauper, who will be honored with a Recording star, has been in the music business for more than 30 years and has sold more than 50 million albums. Fierstein, who will get a Live Performance star, has won and been nominated for numerous Tony and Drama Desk awards over the course of his career.

"I scour the famous sidewalk looking for the best possible location to immortalize honorees," producer Ana Martinez said. "I've placed notable partners such as film producers Richard Donner and Lauren Shuler Donner next to each other's star on the Walk of Fame. They were the first married couple to be honored on the same day with double stars on October 16, 2008. We honored married actors Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy with double stars on March 7, 2012.

The April 11 event will feature a live performance "Kinky Boots," which returns to L.A.'s Pantages Theatre April 13-24.
