Craig Ferguson welcomes James Corden to the "Late Late Show"

Craig Ferguson is in his last week of episodes hosting the "Late Late Show," and on Wednesday's show he welcomed his new successor at the late-night post -- James Corden.

"I'm delighted you're taking over, and I'm very, very sorry for what's about to happen," Ferguson told the British actor, adding, "You sure you want to do it?"

"I think it's too late now, Craig -- but you're looking good," Corden replied.

"That's because I'm leaving!" Ferguson exclaimed.

The host then offered his replacement some encouragement (well, sort of): "It'll be fine. People are so kind -- especially on the Internet."

Corden laughed. "I've had some experience with that already," he said. "You have some passionate fans."

Ferguson's last day at the "Late Late Show" is Friday, with Jay Leno slated to be his final guest. Corden, who also stars in the upcoming film "Into the Woods," will then make his debut as host on March 23, 2015.
