Courtney Love joining "Sons of Anarchy" for final season

Courtney Love is heading to the small screen for the final season of "Sons of Anarchy."

FX has tapped the rocker to play a pivotal role for season 7, TVLine reported Tuesday.

Love will appear in a multi-episode arc as Ms. Harrison -- the pre-school teacher of Jax's (Charlie Hunnam) eldest son Abel. Her character reportedly takes a special interest in Abel, which will likely catch the attention of the boy's mother, Wendy (Drea de Matteo).

This marks the Hole frontwoman's TV drama debut. She earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in 1996's "The People vs. Larry Flynt" and also appeared alongside Jim Carrey in the 1999 Andy Kaufman biopic "Man on the Moon."

She's the second rock star to join "Sons of Anarchy" for its last season. FX announced in May that Marilyn Manson had been cast as a white supremacist who has dealings with Jax.

"Sons of Anarchy" returns in the fall, with Love debuting in episode 4.
