Couple accused of doing heroin at 3-year-old's birthday party

LUCERNEMINES, Pa. - Police say they plan to file charges against a couple caught using heroin in a bathroom during a 3-year-old's birthday party in western Pennsylvania.

State troopers from the Indiana, Pa. barracks announced their investigation Tuesday, but say it stems from an incident on May 15 in Center Township, Indiana County. That's about 50 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Police say the 26-year-old Home City man and a 25-year-old woman from Blairsville went into the bathroom during the party. Another guest believed they were behaving suspiciously and forced open the bathroom door, finding both inside with heroin-related paraphernalia.

Police say the woman ran away, knocking over a 2-year-old child in the process, reports CBS Pittsburgh.

Troopers aren't identifying the suspects because charges have yet to be filed. It wasn't immediately clear how or whether they're related to the child who was having the party.
