Cops investigate suspect's Tinder habits after woman's death
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --Police are taking a closer look at a murder suspect's dating habits after his girlfriend's body was found in a storage facility,reports CBS Denver.
Authorities were investigating reports of a missing person when they found the body of 33-year-old Julie Tureson in a minivan in the facility last Friday. The single mother of four had been shot to death, according to the station.
Police reportedly believe the victim was killed by her boyfriend, James Woo. The suspect is currently in custody in Seattle, where police arrested him after he boarded a plane to Hong Kong.
Woo was expected to be booked on a first degree murder charge, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said in a press release Friday.
Investigators say the couple dated for a few years, but there was a history of domestic violence and the two had broken up a week before the homicide, a spokesperson told CBS Denver.
The sheriff's office also revealed that while dating Tureson, Woo was an active user of dating websites and apps like Tinder. Detectives believe he had been in contact with several women in San Francisco, Denver and Colorado Springs.
"It's an interesting case in that he had a whole separate life," the spokesperson added.
