Coming up on Face the Nation January 26

On the broadcast this Sunday, we'll preview Tuesday's State of the Union address with key lawmakers from both sides of the aisle. We'll talk to Tea Party Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who led the Republican movement to shut down the government last fall over Obamacare.  With the deadline to extend the debt ceiling rapidly approaching, will he vote for an extension? We'll also be joined by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., who this week offered strategies to lessen the influence of the Tea Party in a speech for the Center for American Progress.

Plus, with the Olympic games set to kick off next month, we'll talk to the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, who remains concerned about security at the games.  He’s just returned from Sochi, Russia and will give us an update on the security situation on the ground.

We'll also have interviews with tennis star Billie Jean King and Brian Boitano, two openly gay athletes who are members of the U.S. Olympic delegation traveling to Sochi.  Are they concerned about the safety of US athletes?  And what will they say if asked publically about those tough Russian anti-gay laws? 

Looking ahead to Tuesday's State of the Union address, we'll talk about the President's challenges for the new year with Peggy Noonan of the Wall Street Journal, Bob Woodward of the Washington Post, Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard and President Obama's former Chief of Staff and CBS News Contributor Bill Daley. Plus, as New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's bridge scandal continues and The New York Times Magazine cover featuring Hillary Clinton goes viral, we'll ask our panel of experts what all this means for 2016.
