Parents turn in their kids for being graffiti vandals

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. - A group of parents who saw their own children on news reports about graffiti vandalism turned their teenagers in to the authorities, reports CBS Denver.

The Castle Rock, Colo., Police Department released surveillance video last week to CBS Denver and social media outlets asking for the public's help in finding at least three suspects caught on camera spray-painting in a town park.

Three suspects have been identified and interviewed after their parents brought them to the police department Wednesday morning. The names of the males have not been released because they are minors, ages 14, 15 and 17. The younger two live in Castle Rock and the 17-year-old lives in Castle Pines, Colo.

A total of 14 sites were tagged by the vandals throughout Castle Rock, according to police.

The suspects have not yet been charged by prosecutors, but police are recommending charges of criminal mischief and trespassing.
