Colorado couple accused of pimping out homeless teen
LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- A Colorado couple is facing child prostitution charges after investigators say they pimped out a homeless teenager, reports CBS Denver.
Cravaughn Lacrae Maloy and Alicia Sykes, both 20, are accused of forcing the teenage girl to have sex with men in their apartment.
Both are charged with seven counts, including pimping of a child; pandering of a child; soliciting for child prostitution; keeping a place of child prostitution; inducement of child prostitution; and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
"This is a case of exploiting children, this is a case of some people viewing young girls as a commodity, something to be sold," Jefferson County District Attorney Pete Weir said.
Police have also charged five others for solicitation in the case.
According to the arrest affidavit, the teen ran away from a group home and randomly met Maloy at a bus stop in Lakewood, Colo.
The victim told police Maloy threatened her and forced her to have sex with a man she didn't know for money. He then took her back to an apartment where he and Sykes continued to force her to have sex.
"Sykes took photos of the teen in lingerie and then posted them to websites used to solicit men to have sex with the teen," the district attorney's office said in a statement. "Maloy and Sykes provided the teen with a pre-paid phone card to use for customers who responded to the ads."
A week later, the teen got into a vehicle with one of the men soliciting sex. They were stopped by police investigating a different case and she was taken into custody, CBS Denver reported.
Along with Sykes, four men have been arrested, charged with counts including solicitation of child prostitution. They've been identified as Zachary Ryan Garrett, 25; Robert Bruce Gordon, 72; Ephraim Imperial, 51 and James Kyushik Min, 42.
Police are still looking for Glenn Foster Eugene Cloud, 38, who will be charged with solicitation of child prostitution in the case.
"An investigation never, never stops. We will continue to investigate this case, and if more individuals are identified, then we will pursue charges against them " Weir said.
Police are also still actively looking for Maloy.
