Her family said on Facebook that "Lauren is not any worse off than she was a month ago," but "her headaches have flared up a little more than usual" and she's experiencing symptoms including lack of energy, dizziness, and trouble sleeping. Hospice care will provide additional in-home assistance.

Hill, a 19-year-old college freshman, received nationwide attention when she played in a Division III basketball game with Mount St. Joseph on Nov. 2 despite the tumor, which was diagnosed a year ago. She made layups for the first and last baskets of the game.

Hill also has helped to raise more than $324,000 for cancer research and treatment, and is aiming to hit $1 million in donations for the children's brain cancer charity, "The Cure Starts Now," by the end of the year.

Recent Facebook posts say she's in good spirits and staying busy with special projects.
