CMA Awards 2016: Beyonce hits Nashville with the Dixie Chicks

Beyonce made her bid for crossover country success at the 50th annual CMA Awards, debuting at the Nashville-set awards celebration.

But she didn’t come alone. To wow the crowd with her country-tinged “Daddy Lessons” -- off this year’s hit visual album “Lemonade” -- Beyonce took the stage with her own country ambassadors, the Dixie Chicks, who thrilled to the track’s opening shouts of, “Texas!”

The “Hold Up” singer dazzled in pearls and a bejeweled, low-cut gown, while the Dixie Chicks stuck to black ensembles. 

Natalie Mains traded verses with Beyonce as the assembled country luminaries clapped along, feting them with a standing ovation -- but not before the Beyonce and the Dixie Chicks -- along with Beyonce’s boisterous back-up band -- grooved their way through a fiddle-flecked breakdown and saxophone solo. 

While both Beyonce and the Dixie Chicks have been outspoken politically in the past, they left that at the door, showing up solely to entertain at the CMAs. And the crowd certainly seemed entertained.
