Clay Aiken: Celebrity nude photo hack victims "deserve what they get"

"American Idol" runner-up turned North Carolina congressional candidate Clay Aiken seems to have little sympathy for the celebrities whose nude photos were hacked and recently posted online.

"Anybody who takes inappropriate pictures of themselves deserves exactly what they get," Aiken said in an interview with The Washington Post.

Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and Kaley Cuoco are among the victims who had their privacy invaded and their personal pictures stolen back in August.

"Of course whoever [stole and released the photos] should be hogtied," Aiken added. "And it's unfortunate that we don't have Internet security right now or the laws in place to protect people from pirating that stuff."

Aiken, who is running as a Democrat, will face two-term Republican incumbent Renee Ellmers this November. He came in second place on "American Idol" in 2003.
