CIA insider evaluates European terror threat

Mike Morell, the former acting director of the CIA, says that while the U.S. has been able to decimate al Qaeda's leadership, the group has still managed to grow and carry out attacks.

"Their (al Qaeda) great victory has been the spread of their ideology across a wide geographic area: Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia," said Morell. "On September 10, 2011, al Qaeda was on one place in the planet - Afghanistan. Today they are in 30 to 40 countries."

Morell spoke with CBS News' Charlie Rose about how the terror group has been able to continue to pose a risk to America.
