Carlos Santana victim of death hoax
In case you're wondering, Carlos Santana is alive and well.
The Grammy-winning musician was the victim of a death hoax Wednesday after rumors started flying that he had died at age 68. One reporter from the CBC claimed via Twitter: "Family member found Carlos Santana deceased in his car last night, says source."
The rumors didn't last long, though. Santana's team quickly released the following statement: "Carlos is alive and well and enjoying his morning! Thank you all for your concern, but the reports of his passing are false."
Phew!
Santana has been doing a residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. His next show is slated for Nov. 4.
He recently released a revealing new memoir called "The Universal Tone: Bringing My Story to Light."
In an interview last year with CBS News, Santana talked about his love for playing guitar: "I love melting cynical people's hearts. I love where one note just -- especially when people are like cement, you know -- 'I dare you to make me like you,' you know?"
