Carjacking suspect to elderly victim: "Let's not make it a murder"

MILTON, Mass. - An elderly Massachusetts woman says she was threatened with her life during a carjacking Monday in broad daylight, CBS Boston WBZ reports.

The 84-year-old woman, who did not want to be identified, told WBZ she was returning home from the grocery store when the carjacking happened. She was met in her driveway by a short man who was dressed all in black.

"He said 'this is a robbery. Let's not make it a murder,'" the woman recalls.

She said the man took her purse and told her to stand in front of her car, turn around and he would back the car out of the driveway.

She did what she was told while the man drove away with her car.

WBZ reports Boston police were able to locate the car a day later. It was towed back to the victims home.

"She has incredible spunk, great spirit, great enthusiasm, even after everything happened," said the victims son-in-law who also requested not to be identified.

So far no arrests have been made in the carjacking.
