Car jumps curb, strikes pedestrians on Long Island

HICKSVILLE, N.Y. -- Three people, including a child, were injured late Thursday when a car jumped a curb in Hicksville, Long Island, reports CBS New York.

The car jumped the curb just before 10 p.m. on Old Country Road in Hicksville, Nassau County police said.

The vehicle struck three people -- including two adults and a child, police said.

Police said at least one victim was in critical condition.

The events that led up to the crash were not known late Thursday, reports CBS New York.

Following the crash, Old County Road was closed in both directions at Newbridge Road.
