Brothers arrested for murder in 2014 Ore. disappearance

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Authorities have arrested two brothers accused of killing a Parkdale, Ore. man who vanished last year.

The Hood River County sheriff says 27-year-old Michael Schneider and 22-year-old Donald Schneider were booked Wednesday on charges of murder, burglary and unlawful use of a weapon. Another brother, 23-year-old Peter Schneider, was charged with burglary.

Jason Muschaweck disappeared on his 24th birthday in May 2014. Relatives reported a possible burglary, and deputies found his pit bull had gunshot and stab wounds.

English says the arrests were made after search warrants were served at two Parkdale homes, about 60 miles east of Portland, early Wednesday. Michael Schneider was arrested at one home, and Peter and Donald Schneider were arrested at the other, according to a sheriff's press release.
