Brooke Burke-Charvet out on "Dancing with the Stars"

Brooke Burke-Charvet is exiting the "Dancing with the Stars" ballroom.

The TV personality, who won the show and then became Tom Bergeron's co-host for seven seasons, announced her "DWTS" elimination via Twitter on Friday.

She also confirmed her departure in a statement to E! News: "I have enjoyed seven seasons co-hosting 'DWTS' but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture. I've always been one to embrace change and looking forward to pursuing opportunities I previously wasn't able to entertain because of contractual obligations to the show. I've seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one t

akes the cake."

Burke-Charvet replaced Samantha Harris on the show in 2010. Her departure follows that of "DWTS" music director Harold Wheeler earlier this month, along with his 28-member band.

Since revealing her ouster, the mom of four has seemed to be in good spirits. She tweeted, "Thanks for all the love & support. I loved my time in the ballroom & I’ll love the next chapter too. Change is positive. Love you guys!"

A day later, she added, "So much chatter bout DWTS. I'm really cool everyone. I did my 7 seasons, had a blast! I’m ready for change. I love your loyalty. Thank you!"

If you're wondering who will replace Burke-Charvet on the show, reports say Erin Andrews will be taking over as co-host. The FOX Sports reporter, 35, is no stranger to "DWTS" -- she competed on the 10th season of the show with pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

"Dancing with the Stars" will return to ABC on March 17. The new season's cast will be revealed March 4 on "Good Morning America."
