Puppy recovering after being shot with 18 BBs in S.C.
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A 6-week old Labrador mix named Brody is recovering at an animal hospital in Rock Hill after the dog was shot 18 times with a BB gun.
Local media outlets reports that police responded to an apartment complex Sunday after a utility worker reported a group of as many as 20 juveniles were playing with a black puppy.
The officer found the dog was bleeding.
The youngsters told him someone had shot and stabbed the puppy. A veterinarian said the dog was not stabbed but did have intestinal parasites.
X-rays show that the BB's are still inside Brody, CBS affiliate WBTV reported.
The puppy is on pain medication and is expected to make a full recovery, the station reported.
Workers at the Ebenezer Animal Hospital dubbed the puppy Brody.
