Bristol Palin: "This pregnancy was actually planned"

Bristol Palin on canceled wedding plans

Bristol Palin, who officially announced that she is expecting a second child in a less than enthusiastic blog post last week, followed up on Sunday to say that "this pregnancy was actually planned."

In her entry on June 25 Palin wrote, "I am announcing this news a lot sooner than I expected...Honestly, I've been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one."

"I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you. But please respect Tripp's and my privacy during this time," Palin continued in her official announcement. "I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy."

The daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, who had gotten pregnant with her first child, Tripp, at 16 with ex-fiance Levi Johnston while her mother was running for vice president in 2008, had called off plans for her wedding to Dakota Meyer this May. Although she has made no discussion of who the father is this time, Palin is now explaining that the pregnancy was planned and the baby is wanted.

"So here are the things you should all get straight before you continue to mock me, judge me, and talk about me," Palin wrote on Sunday, in a post titled "My Little Blessing." "None of us are perfect. I made a mistake, but it's not the mistake all these giddy a--holes have loved to assume. This pregnancy was actually planned."

Palin alludes to her relationship with Meyer that "didn't go as planned," but asserted that "everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believe I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself."

"But I do not regret this baby. This baby is not a disappointment. I cannot wait to be a mom times two. Tripper is going to make the best big brother!!" Palin said.
