Bono still can't play guitar after biking accident
It's going to be a little longer before Bono can pick up that guitar again.
The U2 frontman, who injured his hand in a bicycle accident at New York's Central Park in November, told The New York Times, he's still waiting to regain full movement and function in his left fingers and lower arm.
"It feels like I have somebody else's hand. But they say that nerves heal about a millimeter a week, so in about 13 months I should know if it's coming back," he said.
After the accident, Bono was quickly taken to New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell's Emergency Department, where he received several X-rays and CAT scans. He had to undergo surgery and intensive therapy, according to doctors.
Bono says the recovery is ongoing.
"It's all numb here, and this is titanium," he said, pointing to the different body parts. "The shoulder's better, the face is better... But this is the hard bit because I can't play guitar."
U2 kicks off its Innocence + Experience tour on May 14.
