Body found in barrel outside Sonoma, Calif. city hall

SONOMA, Calif. -- A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in a plastic blood-stained barrel in front of Sonoma City Hall late Friday. reports CBS San Francisco.

The discovery of the barrel led to a mobile home, where a search warrant was served and Christopher McNatt, 40, was arrested.

The victim was reportedly identified as Ronald Sauvageau, 64.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the cause of death.

Sonoma County Sheriff's Sgt. Cecile Focha said that a suspected murder weapon was recovered, but would not elaborate on the type of weapon, the relationship between the two men or a motive.

McNatt was being held without bail pending a court appearance -- also set for Tuesday.
