Officials: Body found in storage unit is missing Mich. woman

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. - The Wayne County Medical Examiner says the remains of a decomposed body found stuffed inside a 55-gallon plastic drum at a Detroit-area storage facility are that of a Warren woman reported missing in June.

Spokeswoman Mary Mazur says a forensic dentist matched dental records of 22-year-old Theresa DeKeyzer to the remains.

According to investigators, DeKeyzer's body was entombed in cement inside of the drum, which was apparently bolted to the floor of a small utility trailer at the Travel Trailer Storage Facility in Plymouth Township, reports CBS Detroit.

The body was found Thursday after Warren police executed a search warrant, Plymouth Township detective Charlie Rozum said. Police were led to the facility after receiving tips.

DeKeyzer's boyfriend 37-year-old boyfriend Scott Wobbe reported that he last saw her June 16 near her Warren home, police said.

Warren Police Commissioner Jere Green told CBS Detroit the "discovery is linked to the suspect in the case," referring to Wobbe. He has been jailed for violating probation in a Midland County drug case.

The day before DeKeyzer vanished, she was apparently involved in a physical altercation with Wobbe, reports the station.

Since her disappearance, DeKeyzer hadn't used her cellphone, accessed her bank account or picked up her paycheck, The Detroit News reported earlier this month.

The trailer was later removed, storage facility manager Doris Temple told the Detroit Free Press.

"I've never had anything like this happen, and it's kind of frightening for me," Temple said.

X-ray equipment was used to help determine the contents, according to the state police.

The body was removed from the barrel Friday with the assistance of a forensic anthropologist, said Mary Mazur, a spokeswoman for the Wayne County medical examiner's office.
