​Blurry iPhone pictures? Apple's got a free fix

If you find that the pictures you take with your iPhone 6 Plus tend to come out shaky, it's not just that third macchiato talking. Apple admits that a flaw in its iSight cameras can cause blurring and it is offering a free fix.

The company posted a note on its website saying that "in a small percentage" of iPhone 6 Plus devices, a component in the rear-facing camera can fail, leading to blurred photos.

On the iSight Camera Replacement Program page, users who have experienced the issue can enter the serial number of their phone to check eligibility. The serial number can be found by going into Settings and tapping on General then About. Apple says most of the affected devices were sold between September 2014 and January 2015.

Here's the catch: If your phone has a cracked screen you need to get that fixed before you can get a new camera installed. In fact, Apple rather nonspecifically says that "any damage" must be repaired at the owner's expense in order to cash in on the free camera fix.

You also should be in the country where you purchased the phone. On the plus side, you have three years from when you bought it to bring it in.

Users can bring their phones to an Apple Store or an authorized service provider for their new, steady cameras.
