Black Friday brawls draw attention of police

As holiday shoppers rush to the stores for Black Friday sales, so do police - in some instances.

Two women were arrested after an early morning Black Friday fight among shoppers at a store in Testin, Calif.

Tustin police Sgt. Ryan Coe tells City News Service a disturbance was reported at a Kohl's department store around 1 a.m.

Two female victims were located on the second floor near the baby section and two suspects were found on the first floor.

Coe says it appears the four women got into an argument and a physical altercation ensued.

Coe says one victim was taken to a hospital as a precaution. He did not know the nature of her injuries.

A separate brawl ensued at a Wal-Mart in Norwalk, Calif. Thursday night between a pair of women over a Barbie doll, reports CBS Los Angeles. No injuries were reported and police were able to diffuse the situation without making any arrests, according to the station.

In suburban New York, two people were slashed in separate incidents at stores on Black Friday, but authorities said the crimes were not related to shopping.

In Rockland County, a Costco employee in Nanuet stabbed another with a box cutter shortly before the store opened for business Friday, a Clarkstown police spokesman said.

A previous argument led to the attack, police said.

The 21-year-old victim was undergoing surgery and is expected to survive.

On Long Island, N.Y., an 18-year-old was slashed around 2 a.m. Friday in front of a store at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Riverhead.

A police spokesman said the teen had an ongoing dispute with the aggressor.

No arrests had been made and the teen wasn't cooperating with police, the spokesman said. He wasn't critically injured.
