Beauty on-demand? Check out mobile apps from Glamsquad, Lifebooker
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that doesn't mean we can't have a little fun with hair and makeup. We've rounded up some great beauty apps to keep you looking sharp.
Pretty in my Pocket takes shopping for beauty products to the next level. The app features tons of tips and reviews from the community, blog posts and local deals. Create a profile to posts your own reviews or looks. A barcode scanner makes it easy to find products. The app is free at Apple's App Store and Google Play.
Want to get pampered on a budget? Try checking out the loot on Lifebooker. Find everything from airbrush tanning to lash extensions. The service has great daily deals in major cities. There are also tons of reviews that will help you find the right place -- and you can book appointments right from your phone. The app is free at Apple's App Store and Google Play.
Glamsquad brings beauty to your doorstep. The app lets you book a hairstylist that will come to your home or office. Just pick a hairstyle and schedule an appointment from the app. The company can do dry styling or braiding in about 20 minutes. Styles range from $50 to $125, which is on par with high-end salons.
Glamsquad has launched in New York City and hopes to expand to other cities soon. The company tells CBS News that they are looking into adding makeup artists and, eventually, nail services. The app is free at Apple's App Store.
