Bean bag chair recall issued again

WASHINGTON - The Consumer Product Safety Commission and the maker of a bean bag chair are re-issuing a recall of the chairs.

It involves about 2.2 million bean bag chairs made by Ace Bayou Corp. and sold from 1995 to 2013.

Up to now, fewer than 800 of the consumers who purchased the chairs have responded to the recall.

The danger involves zippers that can be opened by children who can then crawl inside -- where they can get trapped and suffocate, or choke on the foam beads. Two children died after suffocating on the beads.

The CPSC says owners of the chairs should get them away from children, and repair them with a kit provided by the company.
