Four dead, including suspect, in Bastrop,Texas shooting
BASTROP, Texas -- At least four people are dead after a shooting at an apartment complex in Bastrop, according to the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office.
The dead include one man, two women and a child, officials said. The shooting suspect is among the four dead, reportedly from a self-inflicted gunshot, CBS Austin affiliate KEYE said.
Another child has minor, non-life threatening injuries. That child has been transported to Austin Dell Children's Hospital, according to the Bastrop Police Department.
The shooting took place at an apartment complex called "The Arbors of Bastrop." Officers received a call about the shooting at 6:13 p.m., a Sheriff's Office spokesperson said.
Texas Rangers responded to the scene, which is now secure, the Sheriff's Office said.
No details were immediately available about the motive for the shooting. Bastrop is a town of about 7,500 people located 35 miles southeast of Austin.
