Ashley Judd is heading to Berkeley to get a PhD

Ashley Judd is going back to school.

The actress and activist posted a Facebook Live videoon Monday to announce that she will be pursuing a PhD in public policy at the University of California, Berkeley this fall.

“I have decided to take the next step in my academic journey,” Judd said. “Sometimes I’m like, ‘What have I gotten myself into?’ I’m very esteemed and honored they’ve accepted me.”

Judd -- who was recently appointed a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations’ Population Fund -- already has a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard.

“I will be taking my Hello Kitty bicycle with me, just like when I went to Harvard,” she joked. “And yes, my dad will be coming with me to classes, again. Yes, I have a backpack, and yes, I have a locker. And no, I don’t have my outfit for the first day of school picked out.”
