If you want the white glove treatment at an Apple store, just mention you are in the market for an Apple Watch Edition.

Prospective buyers of this 18-karat gold watch starting at $10,000 won't have to wait in any lines. They will get the kind of one-on-one, personalized service associated with five-star hotels or first class on an airline.

"Obviously, you don't want to just walk in the store and pick it up like you would an iPhone or an iPad," CNET editor Dan Ackerman told CBS News. "If you make a reservation, you can come in and, if you say I'm going to spend $10,000 on this thing, you don't stand around a table with everybody else."

Ackerman said potential buyers are escorted to "a semi-private area" where they will get to try out the watch for an hour. Purchasers of the cheaper, $349 Sport version will have about 15 minutes.

"They show you how to use it just like you would if you went into a high-end jewelry store or high-end watch store," he said.

If the big spender is publicity shy, they will have the option to giving the watch a look via video conferencing.

And once the purchase is made, buyers won't have to remain on hold should they need technical help. They will get their own support number to call specifically for Apple Watch Edition customers.
