Metzger is credited as a writer and sometimes-actor on “Inside Amy Schumer,” and the “Trainwreck” star soon found herself bombarded on Twitter with calls to fire Metzger. After blocking many of the more abusive critics, Schumer responded to the situation with a series of messages.
“I’m saddened and disappointed in Kurt Metzger,” she wrote. “He is a friend and a great writer and I couldn’t be more against his recent actions.”
“His words are not mine,” she added in a subsequent tweet.
Schumer also clarified that Metzger does not currently work for the show because “we aren’t making the show anymore,” she tweeted. “There aren’t any writers for the show.”

Comedy Central had renewed “Inside Amy Schumer” for a fifth season in January of this year, but it’s unclear if that work has been completed or put on hold.

Amy Schumer has come out strongly against comments made by former colleague Kurt Metzger on Facebook about rape earlier this week.
