"American Horror Story" home listed on Airbnb

It was too good to last, fans of "American Horror Story" are learning.

Don't worry: The show isn't canceled, but the Airbnb listing for Murder House is.

The home featured on the first season of "American Horror Story" was available for rent on Airbnb for $1,450 a night, reports Variety. The mansion was listed as having nine bedrooms and 4.5 bedrooms and able to accommodate more than 16 people. It's possible the host got shy after the listing was featured in the press.

"American Horror Story" wasn't the only creepy show to feature the house. The building was also on "The X-Files," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "The Twilight Zone."

It's also a historical and cultural landmark. The Alfred Rosenheim Mansion was built in 1908 and has been home to Hollywood luminaries like actor Edward Everett Horton. Rosenheim designed and built the property as a single family home, and it eventually became a convent. The pilot episode for "American Horror Story" was shot on location at the house, while the rest of the series is filmed on sets that are exact replicas of the mansion.

Variety reports that one reviewer left this positive comment: "The house was fantastic: Full of history and carrying her scars and scratches from a long and eventful life with pride. Beds, blankets and linens were top class, kitchen well equipped and our party of five made good use of it, both for relaxation and as an alternative meeting place with colleagues from Hollywood. If you are looking for something soulful, and do not expect everything to be brand new and shiny, this place is it."

The house was listed for sale in 2012 for $4.5 million.
