Amber Alert issued for two Amish girls abducted in N.Y.

OSWEGATCHIE, N.Y. - A statewide Amber Alert has been issued after two Amish girls were abducted Wednesday evening in upstate New York, reports the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office said 12-year-old Fannie Miller and 6-year-old Delila Miller were kidnapped around 7:20 p.m. in Oswegatchie, near the Canadian border. The paper reports the girls were waiting on a customer at their roadside stand set up along a state highway in town when the incident occurred.

Witnesses said they saw someone pull up to the stand in a white 4-door Sedan and throw something into the back seat. According to the Democrat & Chronicle, the vehicle is small and the license plate number is unknown.

The notification states both girls have brown hair and brown eyes, and were wearing dark blue dresses with a blue apron and black bonnet.

Fannie is approximately 5 feet tall and weighs 90 pounds; she is also cross-eyed. Delila is about 4 feet tall and 50 pounds; she has a round scar on her forehead and is missing front teeth.
