Amazon home services cleans your home, mounts TVs
If you buy an air conditioner on Amazon.com, the site will help you find someone to install it for you.
Amazon has launched "Home Services," a marketplace for local businesses to offer services to online shoppers. The company introduced it in New York, Los Angeles and Seattle in November. It's now available in 30 cities and is continuously rolling out in other markets across the country.
A recent search for services available in downtown Manhattan turned up grill assembly, TV wall mounting, virus and spyware removal, iPhone repair and, bizarrely, a goat grazing service. Aerial yoga classes and a singing performance were listed as "coming soon."
Amazon says it vets its professionals, whose services can be added to a shopping cart just like physical products.
